To implement State-Sponsored Scholarship Program for Graduate Students, the 6^th international graduate scholarship conference was held by Secretariat of China Scholarship Council, Responsive PHD Group, USA, and Washington University in Saint Louis from Oct 15^th-16^th in Beijing. More than 100 candidates from 20 State-Sponsored Scholarship Program joint Universities like Tsinghua University, Peking University and Zhejiang University attended the conference. Besides 9 top universities in USA like Harvard University, Yale University and Washington University in Saint Louis were present. Prof. Jianhua Yan, Deputy Dean of Graduate School and Deputy Section Chief of foreign affairs Min Li and Officer of State-Sponsored Scholarship Program for Graduate Students Gang Fang showed up.

The aim of the conference was to promote the State-Sponsored Scholarship Program for Graduate Students under the direction “select top students, send to top universities, learn from top mentors” and enhance the cooperation between Sino-American universities. The program created a platform for information exchange and provided an opportunity to the national top students learning in American universities directly. Assistant Secretary-General of CSC Jianmin Li and President of Washington University in Saint Louis held the opening ceremony together. Deputy Director of International Department of the Ministry of Education Yang Shen made a speech on the conference. Director of CSC Jinghui Liu also delivered a keynote speech.

To maintain the long-term international cooperation between Sino-American universities, the conference had one-on-one session. The session was welcomed by the delegates. Deputy Director Jianhua Yan introduced comprehensively our education and research achievements in the session. He gave a picture of future graduate training mode, course setting and international cooperation to others. The American delegates were impressed by our graduate education and wished to enhance the cooperation with our university so that the quality of the graduates would be well improved in the education internationalization. During the conference Jianhua Yan convinced the delegates from 7 top American Universities like Harvard University and Yale University of our education philosophy and development strategy to the top university.

The conference created a exchange platform for Sino-American universities and promoted the international intercourse and scientific research cooperation.
