Ten projects of Zhejiang University won the National Science and Technology Awards

On the morning of January 14th, the CPC Central Committee and State Council held the National Science and Technology Awards Conference in the Great Hall of the people in Beijing, and the leaders of Party and state awarded the highest awards in science and technology to the winners. Among them there are the scientists from Zhejiang University. 10 projects of Zhejiang University were awarded second prize of National Science and Technology Awards of 2010. As the first unit to finish the project, they won one Technological Invention Award and four Science and Technology Progress Awards, with the number of awards winning the second place among the universities of the country. Zhejiang University also won one Natural Science Award, one Technological Invention Award and three Science and Technology Progress Awards as participants.
The project “New green synthesis technology and industrialization of fat-soluble vitamins and carotenoids”, led by Prof. HaoranLi, Department of Chemistry, Zhejiang University, won the second prize of Technical Invention Award. The project “Key technologies and equipments of the large-scale metro monitoring streaming media”, led by Prof. YaowuChen, Institute of Digital Technology and equipment, the project “Development and industrial application of modern service-oriented Qiantang platform software”, led by Prof. ZhaohuiWu, School of Computer Science,the project “The multimedia technology and intelligent service system for Million Book Digital Library”, led by Prof. YuetingZhuang, School of Computer Science, and the project “Creation, system optimization and clinical application of the reproductive technology to improve birth quality ”, led by HefengHuang, School of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, won the second prize of Technical Progress Award.
